‘New Man’ by Warme

Warme’s new song “New Man” is an honest portrayal of a dark subject. Based on the heroin problems of one of the band members this track is powerfully emotional and sets a very different tone in comparison to their last release “Council House Opera”.

The song starts of slowly and carried by a melancholic gravity that suggests the struggle someone goes through during a drug addiction. It then progressively builds up to a more hopeful and brighter atmosphere. Warme have captured the story of overcoming tough times and recovery perfectly. It’s a song of hope and strength and the personal touch the band puts into it makes it all the more authentic and interesting.

Having grown over the years, Ilfracombe Rocks will accommodate up to 1500 music lovers this November. The three-day event is held from 4th-6th November 2016. Brought to life by iconic radio presenter DJ John Forster, known for hosting the number one unsigned rock music show on the net called ‘Dr. John’s Unsigned Rock Surgery’ on Rockbandom Radio, this event is a true gem for admirers of handmade sonic bliss. Located in John Fowler’s Holiday Park in Devon the annual celebration of gritty guitars and amplified solos is a perfect way to spend a rock’n’roll weekend not only for hardcore bikers in leather jackets, but for the whole family!

This year’s headliners are some of the most excellent tribute bands in the scene. Thunderstruck, The ZZtops and Higher on Maiden will be bringing back the days of rock revolution. While there’s certainly a whiff of nostalgia in the air, the festival is also host to some of Europe’s finest new unsigned rock bands. This is a brilliant way to get to listen to potential stars on the rise and the stadium fillers of tomorrow!

Dr. John’s motto is simple – the DJ wants to promote good quality music and says: “the unsigned scene is possibly the most under-listened aspect of rock music. In many cases it is far superior to the mainstream and more honest. Many of them don’t get anywhere near the airplay and exposure they deserve.” That is why he decided to extend his work at the radio and give emerging artists an additional platform to get heard.

Tom Clarke (The Enemy)
“They don’t make em like this anymore, there’s an artists depth to these lads that’s been missing from guitar music for decades…The Smiths had it, Radiohead had it and this love have got it, grace, elegance and an intelligent understanding on a higher musical plane than most and to be fair to them….it’s not their fail they’re from Essex!”

Luke Crowther (The Rifles)
“States of Emotion are a great hard working band who just get their heads down and make massive tunes, no fuss! What you see is what you get, honest lads delivering real heartfelt music”

States of Emotion have been through enough drama already, thanks. They deserve a good 2016. In the past three years the Essex natives have endured enough label and wider industry shenanigans that would kill a lesser band. But Olly Hookings & Bonzai have spines of steel and an arsenal of shimmery guitar pop, and by God, their long shelved album ‘Black & White to Gold’ is finally going to be released on February 15th.

Their self released debut single ‘The Unsung’ came out back in 2010.  Featuring long time fan James Buckley (of “Jay” Inbetweeners fame) in the music video, it was a song that Fact Mag claimed ‘sounded a little like Coventry oiks The Enemy covering Simple Minds’.

And now, after 3 years of label frustrations and headaches (read the biography for full details), States Of Emotion make their long awaiting return.  The album sees the band move from dark, electronic stomps akin to TV On The Radio (“Rag n Bone Men”) to the jubilant, uplifting, U2 inspired “Lena”, and the thundering guitar of album opener ”Broke The Mould”, there’s something here for every lover of alternative guitar music across the globe.

Brand New Single – Loopexx

After a little jam with his colleague James the two realised that, although from two completely different musical backgrounds, they could create a musical magnetism that could be put to good use. The name has derived from the idea to loop the sound effects of beatbox, vocals and guitar sounds. Their musical style is very much a mix of different genres.

Both Eric and Pipo have been struck with life experiences that had a great impact on their determination to bring happiness to people. Having been a professional football player from 1978 to 1991 Eric’s life underwent a sudden change after he had an accident that wouldn’t allow him to walk for an entire year. During that period he decided that the only medicine he needed to get better was music. His healing process began by helping out other people, first as a motivational coach and then finally through his art.

4 Piece Band – The Lazlo Device

The social B&W table

The Lazlo Device is the new voice of indie. With a dreamy mix of melodic guitars and contemplative vocals the London based band manages to transport the qualities of 80s shoegazing into a 21st century narrative.

After what they describe as “four years of hard bloody work” The Lazlo Device has reached a level of proficiency that is made for big stages as can be heard in their upcoming single ‘Looking Glass’ from the album Duelism.

Being formed out of the remains of noteworthy bands such as Goldroom, DP Wives or Turbowolf the lads combine years of experience with a well developed sound and a massive portion of diligence. The diversity of their style is primarily a product of various musical backgrounds. All four members are songwriters in their own right and having been influenced by a broad range of different genres has contributed greatly to the uniqueness of their songs.

Their music is also about to be featured on a forthcoming BBC documentary about the Black Panthers. With an electrifying album and a single coming up it’s only a question of time before the Lazlo Device are headlining arenas.

The single ‘Looking Glass’ will be out on 4th March 2016.
