Jade Moss mixes it up with new Dance Remixes of ‘Hey Babe’

Emily Lindsell

Following on from the great success of her recent track Hey Babe, which was broadcast on multiple radio stations across the UK (including on BBC and Jazz FM), Jade Moss is preparing to release two brand new remixes of the track!

The genre-bending tune, which was released in January 2021, has all the aspects to perfectly satisfy a music lover’s taste. Jade focuses her music with a message of self love and positivity, with her lyrics reflecting her values of self-worth. Hey Babe highlights how she feels about the different themes (self-worth in particular) as she tells a story of a partner who objectifies her and doesn’t treat her with the respect she deserves. The morals of the song are greatly beneficial to today’s society, as we enter a time where women aren’t always respected and treated equally. Hey Babe delivers the perfect message that young women across the world need to hear right now – don’t let anyone else define your worth and undermine you.

The two remixes bring an all new twist to the track’s usual Jazz-pop sound, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already addictive track. Jade’s vocals compliment the new sounds well; with a voice so unique it’s refreshing to hear the different versions of the track, as both Tazeko and Steff Garner’s remixes bend the song in their own unique way. Listening through each track it almost feels as though you’re listening to a new song every time, something which you’ll be grateful for after learning Jade’s discography only consists of two singles at this moment in time (with further releases nearing in the future).

You can listen to the remixes for yourself on the 23rd of April, but for now enjoy the original just the way it is here.

Winchester 7 & The Runners release new single ‘When the World Stops Spinning’

Emily Lindsell

Winchester 7 & The Runners have recently released new single When The World Stops Spinning from recent EP Argos Holiday. The EP features seven tracks from Win, alongside a cover of Bowie’s track Modern Love and a Stuart Epp’s remix.

The tracks each hold their own individuality, however they all have one common factor – the ukulele. The electric ukulele features heavily on each tune, alongside the presence of drums played by Jack Kane and bass played by Phil Voorhees, who help show a cool new twist on track instrumentals. The ukulele offers a unique sound, and displays how much Win likes to work outside of the box – something that’s also demonstrated by his orchestration of his one-man band.

The fact that Winchester 7 & The Runners is actually run by one person is extremely impressive, considering that the production and overall sound of his music has the gusto of a band of 7. In fact, it’s theorised that Jack Kane and Phil Voorhees are simply Win in disguise – although nothing’s been confirmed just yet!

Win takes inspiration from musical legend Paul McCartney, who also became a one-man-band for his first three albums. His creativity, mixed with his passion for music and appreciation of different musical approaches, has all contributed to the creation of a powerful psychedelic rock EP that, as I commented earlier, will leave you unable to believe it’s all put together by one man!

When the World Keeps Spinning will resonate with you from the sheer level of talent showcased, with one man covering everything from the vocals to every last instrumental used in production. The results will blow you away!

You can listen to the new single here.

InHibit releases all new EP ‘Blinded’

Emily Lindsell

After much anticipation and hard work, InHibit has finally released his debut EP Blinded!

‘Shame On Humans’, which has already achieved great success with its official music video, has accumulated over half a million views in less than two weeks. It paints the perfect picture for the rest of the EPs style; InHibit states that each of his songs have a big piece of him in them lyrically and sonically. He talks of how he puts his thoughts and his mind into his music, which is something that is portrayed clearly throughout his tracks that have an aura of real rawness and honesty.

InHibit’s compositions follow an unconventional path, with the artist mixing his inspirations from a young age with his current personal intricate style. His music takes on an alternative rock venture, featuring a heavy presence of guitars and a prominent display of drums. This, paired with his intense vocals, creates the perfect alt-rock masterpiece, with his influences playing a part in bending his style into something so unique. Industry mainstays such as Foo Fighters can be picked up on occasionally throughout the EP, showing how in touch he can be with his inspirations, channeling them in a way to make his sound his own – something that is hard to come by.

The theme of the EP is simply InHibit’s own views and values, portrayed through his music in a way that can spark thought-provoking conversation amongst his audience. He challenges the norm and how the world is viewed with his own ideas and thoughts, aiming to cause some minor controversy with his lyrics and statements. This is a huge part of how InHibit shows his personality through the music he creates, with other ways being his previously mentioned unique style and individual sound. Showcasing personality and real emotions is the perfect product of realness, and that’s exactly what Blinded is: a real depiction of Inhibit.

You can listen to Blinded for yourself here.

We heard from Alice about why working with Macca was a joy.

Frontman Brian Johnson said that he hopes the new record will inspire a whole new generation of AC/DC fans.

“Instead of looking at dancers on TikTok, I’m hoping this album will make young kids go out and buy a guitar, learn the riffs and discover the rest of our catalogue,” he said. “It would just be great to get more young rock bands out there, writing their own songs and getting up there on stage.”

The official video for AC/DC’s ‘Shot In The Dark’ has arrived

As reported by NME, AC/DC have revealed the official video for their comeback single ‘Shot In The Dark’.

Original Article: https://www.nme.com/news/music/the-official-video-for-ac-dcs-shot-in-the-dark-has-arrived-2798808

The first single from the re-united band’s much anticipated seventeenth album ‘Power Up’ arrived at the beginning of this month. ‘Shot In The Dark’ is the rock veterans’ first new material since 2014’s ‘Rock Or Bust’ LP.

You can take a look at the visuals, which features the band performing live and were shot by longtime AC/DC video director David Mallet.

Describing ‘Shot In The Dark’, guitarist Angus Young told NME: “It’s a strong single from a powerful rock album. You’ll be able to hear it and know straight away that it’s AC/DC. That’s what we’ve always strived for.”

The Australian rock veterans’s new album is out on November 13. It sees frontman Brian Johnson returning to the group after Axl Rose’s stint as singer, with drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams also returning to the fold.

Last week, meanwhile, AC/DC shared a new online program which allows users to display their initials in the style of the band’s iconic lightning bolt logo.

Angus Young has also confirmed that the album does not feature contributions from his brother and the band’s original rhythm guitarist Malcolm, who died in 2017, despite it featuring a number of his “ideas”.

Young said: “I know a lot of people have been saying: did Malcolm actually play, is it his instrument on the new album? I chose not to do that because I felt Malcolm himself wouldn’t like me trying to splice his guitar work.”

Watch Royal Blood’s dark and dangerous new video for ‘Trouble’s Coming’

As reported by NME, Royal Blood have shared a new video for their comeback single ‘Trouble’s Coming’ – watch it below.

Original Article: https://www.nme.com/news/music/watch-royal-blood-dark-dangerous-new-video-troubles-coming-2796224

The band made their return last month, sharing their first new material since 2017 album ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’.

The new video, directed by Dir. Lx, sees the band in dark and stormy landscapes, with Mike Kerr emerging bloodied up on the other side.

Watch Royal Blood’s new ‘Trouble’s Coming’ video below.

Following the release of the new track, the band’s Mike Kerr spoke to NME about the Brighton duo’s return and their upcoming third album.

“We realised that this much dancier sound really leant itself to the kind of music we were already making,” Kerr said. “We found this through-line between classic rock, dance music and disco music where, to me, some of the best fretting ever is AC/DC. They always play over this straight beat. It’s just like a heartbeat through the songs that never stops. Then these riffs just cut over the top.

“All we had to do was speed it up and it gave us this new approach to what we did. It felt like we were seeing in colour for the first time.”

Discussing their next album, Kerr added: “All the tracks on this record have their own personality. This encapsulates the change and progression that we’ve made as a band and as people. We’re aware that we’ve been away for a long time, and we didn’t want to come back with something that we’d done before. This shows a maturity on every level.

“This record wasn’t just the next 10 songs that we wrote about the last album. We wrote an insane amount of music after coming off tour. To us this is like our sixth record, but it’s officially being released as our third!”

Earlier this summer, Royal Blood shared their support for the global Black Lives Matter movement, which gained pace following the death of George Floyd.

“We have been described as ‘two guys making a lot of noise’ for nearly 6 years now, but the truth is we are two white males, adopting and basking in an entire genre of music that was created by black culture and black musicians,” the duo wrote, encouraging fans to educate themselves on social injustices.

Blues Rockers ‘MASK’ return with mysterious single ‘Smiling Assassins’

Fans of the likes of Artic Monkeys, Miles Kane and Black Keys will admire ‘MASK’ for their effortlessly cool, smooth sound and Beatles-esque charm. Consisting of H Humphrey (guitar/vocals) and friend Craig (guitar/vocals) their new single ‘Smiling Assassins’ boasts a fresh blend of Blues and Glam-Rock with that mysterious ‘movie-soundtrack sound’ created through gripping guitar and gritty vocals, painting a picture of the shady character described in the track’s lyrics.

The inspiration for the record came when ‘MASK’ frontman H Humphrey suffered a loss and decided to escape his everyday life and left for Peru. Feeling enlightened on his return, he reached out to producer Michael
Mormecha and ‘Smiling Assassins’ was born. Never afraid to challenge the norms imbedded in the music industry, the track even features the band banging toolboxes and planks of wood over the chorus, creating a unique, experimental sound. The lyrics of ‘Smiling Assassin’ explore a friend’s betrayal by someone close to them, telling the tale in a gripping, addictive manner.

Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter, Aimee, releases first single in four years

Written by: Charlotte Bredael

As reported by NME, ARO – the project of Ozzy Osbourne‘s daughter Aimee Osbourne – has shared her first new track in four years, titled ‘Shared Something With The Night’.

The track was released alongside a music video, directed by Jon Danovic. Watch the clip for ‘Shared Something With The Night’ below:

In a statement, Osbourne said she wrote the single while she was living in New York feeling alone and lost.

“The song is like a My Bloody Valentine lullaby for the romantically tormented that struggle to sleep at night,” she told Rolling Stone.

“I hadn’t fully connected with who I really was and what that meant yet. Hung up on the outcome of someone else’s approval of me to determine my own self-worth. This weird little song was an outlet for a lot of uncomfortability at the time.”

‘Shared Something With The Night’ is lifted from ARO’s forthcoming LP, ‘Vacare Adamaré’. Osbourne has shared her intent to release the tracks in EP-like instalments.

“I have been in a really great place creatively and personally which helps. I am forever interested and drawn to the unusual and love to combine genres. I definitely surprised myself with some of these new tracks,” she said.

Aimee Osbourne is the eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Prior to her latest single, ARO’s last release was in 2016 with ‘Cocaine Style’.

Alberto Lombardi Hailed an Acoustic Maestro

“The record is killing, such great musicianship!” Nile Rodgers

“Fantastic guitar player! Wow, this is such a beautiful piece of music!” Bob Clearmountain

“Alberto Lombardi’s debut solo project titled ‘Birds’ is a joy…a wonderful recording.. a very impressive and creative guitarist” – Bill Piburn, Fingerstyle Journal

“Acoustic Maestro…thrilling acoustic work. The Italian ace deploys his immense technique to serve the song, not the reverse” – Pete Prown, Vintage Guitar Magazine

“Italian Fingerstyle Master”, Acoustic Guitar Magazine

With celebrity fans such as Chic’s Nile Rodgers and legendary engineer, Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen; David Bowie; Rolling Stones), Alberto Lombardi has already won legions of fans with his expressive guitar playing and rich song writing but his latest single, “Start Again”, looks to catapult him in front of even larger audiences. “Start Again” is an intense and profound single which has at its lyrical heart some of the most beautiful lines from Dante’s Inferno, whilst Alberto’s extraordinary guitar work is nothing short of revelatory, a fitting showcase for one of Stratocaster’s greatest living exponents.

The song “Start Again” is a rich, epic ballad with beautiful guitar work and intense lyrics about a new fresh start. Some of the words are based on lines in The Inferno, by Italian poet, Dante. Dante imagines that Ulysses sails to unknown shores with his men, instead of going back to Itaca and leads them beyond the pillars of Hercules where the world was believed to end. His speech to convince them to endure the challenge is a milestone in literature and shines a light on the human soul and its infinite capabilities.
