Jack has supported acts such as ‘The Riffles’, ‘Dave Mcpherson’, and ‘The Coral’ (at Noel Gallaghers aftershow party) and ‘Dirty Sanchez’. He has also accompanied ‘The Virginmarys’, an ever growing popular US group.
Jack’s hobbies and personal interests are heavy influencers in shaping his latest EP. Jack’s interest in geography, travel and even population densities; play a key part in the songs sound and narrative. The lyrics are also inspired by the creation of fictional characters as well as autobiographical situations.
His latest single ‘Pink Flamingo’ is one of his most beautiful songs to date. The infectious chorus is only a part of what makes this whimsical tale of life and astronomical connections so poignant. It is based around the many events that take place under the constellations; with its main focus being about sitting outside the Flamingo Casino in Vegas. The sound is an indie pop mix drawing from influences such as The Killers, Belle and Sebastian, and Idlewild.
Jack has recently been recording music in Glasgow; with a music producer by the name of John McLaughlin over the last few months. John has seen great success in the past and looks to be striking another hit if Pink flamingo is anything to go by. Also, Teenage Fan club star, Francis MacDonald was involved in their recording session too.
Rollys Syndicate are the Warwickshire based band, that are mixing contemporary blues and soul. They are now set to release a new album for the summer. Working together, Milli aids Roland with moving lyrics, whilst Ro’ brings the guitar backing.
Their music has that open air quality you only reall see in the Jazz genre. With great guitar playing and memorable lyrics, the band congregates together; to make a thoroughly enjoyable collection of moving and expressive tracks.
After a long period of co-operation with the band, Milli could no longer commit to the long term vision of the group. However, in honour of the bands history together, the Roland Syndicate decided to dedicate their debut album to Milli and her lyrical talents.
Fortunately, she happily agreed to collaborate on a short term basis. It’s for this reason that most of the lyrics in the album draw their influence from both the bands everyday life and Milli’s personal journey to this point.
The band has now picked a new vocalist from a selection of more than 30 applicants. Her name is Natalie Brown and the band tells us that she is as good as Milli!
Her background includes being the lead vocalist in the original band, StoneSoulUK from February 2006 to October 2013 (writing and performing mainly original material, as well as cover material). Natalie has also lent her vocal talents to the cover band ‘the Bottle’, whilst studying at university (1997-2000). Ontop of all this she has performed at major west midland venues such as The Yardbird, Victoria Square and The Malthouse. Natalie Brown’s influences include Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys and Michael Jackson.
Hungarian born, Roland produced the album as part of achieving a degree at Staffordshire University. He has showcased his talents at many different live gigs such as: The Public (West Bromwich), Hare & Hounds (Birmingham), Bulls Head (Birmingham), Mixing Bowl Theatre (Birmingham). Roland said that he has played many live gigs but for him the biggest event was at the Sziget Festival.
On-top of these live shows, the group has also been featured on the ‘BBC Introducing’ series, played on Radio Warwickshire, Airplay & The Musical Journey show (live), Tweets & web mentions (Clay Lowe/SoulCuzer radio presenter), Radio Plus – Airplay & Live Room Session.
Through the years, Milli and Roland have developed a good understanding of the musical influences they wanted to follow, and thus developed a winning musical chemistry. Roland’s professionalism and creativity seemed to work well with Milli adding her soulful tones, as she is not only a talented vocalist, but also an amazing songwriter with a history in Drama and Literature.
Benny (drummer) & Luke (bass player) were both attracted to the the unique mix of Soul, contemporary Blues and a touch of jazzy elements, they both relate to in their own personal musical backgrounds.
Luke, the bass player in the band was born in Leamington Spa in 1992, picking up his first guitar at the age of 11. It was after watching the video of November Rain that Luke’s hobby turned into a lifelong passion. He has played from many names such as the African Kora players to Art rock bands and anyone else that would give him his next step into the starlight. His talent developed quickly due to dedication and his love to the art.
Benny, the band’s drummer, plays several styles including jazz, rock, blues and funk. He played in jazz trios, big bands, rock and punk bands through the years. He has recently played in the Boogie snakes and the Holly Perkins Bands. Making appearances on many different jam sessions around Oxfordshire. Bennys drum kit is a vintage Yamaha kit from 1973, Yamaha Vintage Series snare, Zildjian cymbals with Evans heads. The drummer says that his influencers are Dennis Chambers, Ed Thigpen and Zsolt Mike.
The Unique combination of styles and influences Rolly’s Syndicate produce demonstrates the colourful background of the group members, Roland’s Passion for blues from a Hungarian Background, Beni’s Amazing talent and vast experience playing with various bands and Luke’s alternative veins and passion for Jazz & World Music.
Fireproof Giant find ‘A Place to Start’ with debut EP
Hot off the Circus, the EP is now available from bandcamp.com
Having been described as a “terrific four piece band” (The Times) whose music is “intense, haunting and pulsating” (The Independent), it is sure enough that Fireproof Giant are experiencing a whirlwind of recognition with the release of highly anticipated EP ‘A Place to Start’.
The EP has a refreshing, poignant sound with honest lyrical and musical influences. The soulful, charming vocals make for a relaxing composition which leaves the audience truly captivated. It is no surprise the EP is receiving such positive appreciation from fellow musicians including Coldplay front man, Chris Martin.
The EP opens with ‘Pandora’, an eerie, hypnotic piece which intrigues the listener, giving a taste of what else is on offer. Other tracks, ‘Gather You’ and ‘Cover Up’ are more upbeat with intricate guitar riffs and catchy hooks. However, title track, ‘A Place to Start’, is a powerful and moving piece about starting over again which includes a melodic piano and double bass accompaniment to give the single a more layered tone. Having been mastered by Andy ‘Hippy’ Baldwin (Blur, Mark Ronson, The Who), the EP has a top quality, solid sound production.
The idea behind Fireproof Giant came from front man, Gareth Jones, who was writing and performing with Nofit State Circus, collaborating with numerous musicians from a variety of cultures globally. Audience demand for more music and live performances increased, resulting in the conception of Fireproof Giant. After touring with the circus and live theatre for 6 years the group decided to leave and pursue their musical ambitions producing raw, original and sincere pieces.
Fireproof Giant’s wealth of experience has seen their music played on Channel 4, S4C, BBC radio 2 and BBC London; with vast potential and support, 2014 could well be their year.

Derbyshire Rockers, The Four Fours, ‘Count to Ten’ with new release
‘Messing with History’ to follow on double A-side release out July 14th
Having previously performed separately as math rock band ‘You Slut!’ amongst various others, The Four Fours formed out of a creative impulse, writing and producing ‘Count to Ten’ in under a week. The track has garnered considerable attention on the rock scene and is building momentum internationally.
‘Count to Ten’ has a typical rock sound, incorporating heavy guitar riffs, a gritty vocal and anthemic chorus. No stranger to the genre, the contagious track has infused sci-fi influences to develop a more layered piece. The desire to maintain a little mystery and embrace escapism is represented by the baboon masks you often find the band wearing as a way to separate themselves from reality.
The trio have all been members of other bands who have supported artists such as Bloc Party, Amusement Parks on Fire and MaybeSheWill. As well as recording in acclaimed studios, Rockfield Studios in Monmouth (The Stone Roses, Kasabian, Black Sabbath), and The Townhouse Studios in Shepherds Bush (Muse, Coldplay, Queen). As a result The Four Fours understand the industry and have had time and experience to perfect their craft and produce tracks of a high quality.
The Four Fours have received a colossal amount of praise for new single ‘Count to Ten’ both online and on radio gaining airplay on stations including: Rocker’s Dive Radio (US), Code Zero Radio (US), Lonely Oak Radio (US), Rock 101 Radio (US), Hull Online Radio (UK), EGH Radio (UK) and UN.radio (UN.sung magazine‘s internet radio show).
Hoping to eclipse their previous successes, the potential for The Four Fours is fantastic and with the release of ‘Messing with History’ on the horizon, 2014 is proving to be an exciting year for the trio.
Album, The Futures Mine to Make, to follow August 11th
Alternative rock group, Pavilions, have release debut single ‘Futures’ off their new album The Futures Mine to Make. The band, hailing from The Wirral, has taken their local area by storm with their post-hardcore sound influenced by musicians such as Don Broco, Sleeping with Sirens and Emarosa.
‘Futures’ begins with a lingering, flawlessly crafted vocal and guitar riff, exploding into an exciting upbeat rock track – a sound the band have become known for and accentuates their musical talent. The single sums up the whole vibe and direction of the album namely that it is about making the most of your time on this planet and the realisation that the past will always stay the same but you have the ability to shape the future you want.
Pavilions’ have certainly found their musical direction with new album The Futures Mine to Make, seeing exciting collaborations with the likes of producer, Dan Lancaster (Don Broco, JLS, Rita Ora, Little Mix) and track features from Johnny Craig and Violet front man, Charlie Bass.
Their career highlights include a support slot with Jonny Craig and playing to an almost sold out crowd supporting Fearless Vampire Killers and the o2 academy in Liverpool. They have also played a whole host of home town shows supporting the likes of Deaf Havana, Alkaline Trio and Lower than Atlantis.
“absolutely excellent. A good blend of melody with a hint of aggression… they fed off one another to give a thoroughly enjoyable show”
Natalie Humphries – Soundscape
“Finding pure, unadulterated talent like this is rare”
Suburban Myth Welcome you to take a listen to their new Single!
Suburban Myth is an alternative rock band that takes its music influences from bands such as The Goo Goo Dolls and Shine down, with lyrical influences ranging from rock legends such as Mike Peters to Paul Rodgers. However they bring their own unique individualism which together produces a melodic rock sound that surrounds and encompasses storytelling that gets the feet moving and the mind reflecting.
Welcome (If Only) which will be released July 28th, is the latest single from Suburban Myth with the album of the same name following the single release on August 11th.
Welcome was born through the collaboration and dedication of Phil Wormall (Lyricist) and Derek Daisey (composer) thousands of miles apart but just a second away in an online collaboration that has brought to life this punchy rock track. Full of melody, story and guitar mashing these guys know how to compose a song. This track has an electric atmosphere to it with a hard thrashing beat behind it that is complimented perfectly by the hardcore tones of vocalist Derek Daisey.
Over a four year period the partnership and friendship of Phil and Derek grew stronger to the point where Derek relocated from New York to Charleston, South Carolina, where Suburban Myth was formed and one part of the journey was complete. Songs were starting to be written at a rapid pace, with over 40 songs composed it was time to release “Plastic Souls” Suburban Myths EP. A six track compilation that received great reviews with the single “River of life” which saw a good deal of media attention, reaching No.3 in the Reverbnation charts in South Carolina. Following on from that success, they created ‘Can you help me find my Christmas’, which received air time on BBC radio.
“This outfit have a tasty way with a trad-indie-alt-rock tune and there’s a rising taste for this sort of thing in the face of the deluge of hideously cheesy dance-pop…”
Thomas H Green –Daily Telegraph/Arts Desk/Mixmag/Napster
“They are the kind of band you’ll be lucky enough to see up close and personal in a small venue, as a growing name… Until they hit the mega bucks, and they’ll be headlining festivals before you know it.”
Suzie Kidger – News Reviews
“…With sing-a-long melodies, conventional structures and a radio friendly quality, there’s little to stop this band becoming a household name in time to come… Heavily influenced by those who have profited from the Goo Goo Dolls, Seether and Matchbox 20 sound, their music is marketable…”
Russian songwriter offers up 3 track melodic metal release – Out Now
Specialising in rhythmically complex, melodic rock with all the power of metal music but with added tunefulness, Gravity Rain is the new music project of Russian songwriter Danny Klaven.
His new three track EP ‘The Shining Silence’ is out now, and showcases a mix of influences including Tool, Devin Townsend and Staind to name a few. The EP demonstrates a real talent for balancing effective melodies with the power of full on rock music.
Available to stream and download at a price of your choice – visit gravityrain.bandcamp.com – ‘The Shining Silence’ is out now and highly recommended for fans of all types of contemporary rock.
The blended sound of powerful metal music and contemplative, lyrical vocals is summed up perfectly by the EP artwork. Showing an unnaturally huge, stoneborn giant staring at the natural beauty of a growing tree, it demonstrates the mix of ideas that sums up the three songs – the impact of metal music married to the beauty of melody.
In the words of Danny Klaven himself: “When I was forming this band, I wanted to create music for the rock lovers that is not aggressive, that you could think and somewhat meditate while listening to it, that will have a lot of melody, beautiful vocals, but will retain the power of metal guitars and drums.”
It’s an ambition which is more than met with ‘The Shining Silence’ EP – available now online.
Small Town Records have now signed the Midlands based rock group, Lock & Key.
Lock & Key are a band who have been together no longer than 5 months, but have already whet the appetite with their raw and honest brand of Hardcore, on debut tracks ‘So Alone’ (garnering 78,000 YouTube views) and ‘No Acceptance’ (23,000 in a month).
The real reaction online is born from the intense and already fairly relentless touring. To use the phrase passionate live performances would be a disservice. Frontman Richard Lardner says; “I know every band says it but we’ve all been through some rough times and our sole aim at every show is trying to get the audience to feel at least a part of the songs. I always hope there’s someone who sees the message within the lyrics.”
A message the band has already carried across the UK and mainland Europe alongside names such as Deez Nuts, Devil In Me, Demoraliser, Despite My Deepest Fear, Dead Harts, Broken Teeth etc.
The band will release their debut EP on Small Town Records in the coming months.
No acceptance the bands latest single, demonstrates style, class and a clash of guitars and percussion instruments. The video is masterfully put together. They freeze the music to build dramatic tension at the beginning, before unleashing the floodgates of hell upon your eardrums with the vocalist leading the screaming charge. Also, there is a pretty slaughterous guitar solo throughout the song, check out the video below!

After signing an international distribution deal and getting signed to Blackstream Records, These Raven Skies created their own record label which will see the release of their debut self-titled album out August 1st.
First release, ‘No Need to Worry’, is an infectious rock track, filled with intricate guitar riffs and powerful, anthemic vocals. This track is inspired by a real-life experience where the band were involved in a bar fight to defend two female fans from some aggressive male regulars. In typical rock ‘n’ roll style, chairs were thrown, knives were brandished but fortunately the band triumphed!
Formerly known as Dreams of Reason, These Raven Skies changed their name to mark a change in musical direction and maturity. This was encouraged by The Tea Party’s front man, Jeff Martin, who took the band’s demos and applied his own creative flare, adding eclectic world music elements and arrangements to develop an intriguing classic rock flavour. Not afraid to write a record with no restraints and consideration for convention, These Raven Skies took influences from the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Tea Party, Led Zeppelin, and Soundgarden.
Having supported established bands such as Korn, Billy Talent, Flux Pavillion and Buckcherry, it is no surprise they are getting recognition for their wealth of talent and energetic live performances. These successes have seen them headline major hometown venues such as The Republik! as well as playing local Canadian festivals.
After experiencing various personal tragedies, the band channelled their emotions and passion into their music allowing them to create a great rock album which is perfect for any rock ‘n’ roll fan.
Solid indie-pop track taken from ‘The Parade’ album
With a soulful vocal and a clean, commercial indie-pop sound, Wayne William is a solo artist from Malta with buckets of talent. His entirely self-produced album – impressively recorded and captured in his own ‘WM’ Studio – was released earlier this year to strong reviews, and the latest single ‘Don’t Fade Away’ is set to enhance that reputation further.
His smooth style is hard to ignore, ‘Don’t Fade Away’ is an indie-pop treat that’s not afraid to tug on your heartstrings. You can check out the video here:
The single is taken from ‘The Parade’, an album described by Skope Magazine as ‘a powerhouse’ and one that introduced a much wider audience to the songwriter. With more material on the way, this could very well be only the beginning for Wayne William.
It’s been a busy two years for Wayne. In addition to putting together album ‘The Parade’, the last couple of years has seen him get married, launch his own studio, work with other artists to record their own material as well as finding the time organise charity gigs to raise awareness and money for childrens’ cancer groups. He will also compete in this year’s Eurovision, representing Malta as part of the band Firelight.
Raised in a musical family, it comes as little surprise that music was the path that Wayne William would take. And with ‘The Parade’ out now alongside the excellent new single, this is one radio-friendly singer-songwriter who is sure to turn heads.
